This lovingly renovated historic cottage sits on a quiet, one-way street just around the corner from Ocracoke’s Lighthouse and Springer’s Point Nature Preserve. While updating the amenities throughout the house, the renovation retains all the charm of the 19th century construction. Wavy window glass and timbers scavenged from shipwrecks, combined with central HVAC, wireless internet, well-equipped kitchen- and an outdoor shower to boot. An original, almost hidden staircase leads upstairs to a large master bedroom with a small office and half bath. The screened porch offers a sitting area for cocktails and a generous farmhouse table for dining, overlooking the lovely, spacious yard which nestles up to a salt-water marsh with glimpses of a pond, egrets, and blue herons.
