Each home offers a comfortable living area with a Smart TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, a laptop-friendly workspace, and its own fully equipped kitchen. Air conditioning and heating provide year-round comfort, while select homes include an indoor fireplace, perfect for cool canyon evenings.
The kitchens are equipped with cookware, dishes and silverware, refrigerators, freezers, ovens, stovetops, microwaves, toasters, coffee makers, and kettles. Please share your dog's breed and age at the time of booking. The Cabin does not accept pets of any kind. Free on-site parking is available, and long-term stays are welcome.
Each home is equipped with indoor and outdoor noise level monitoring sensors that measure decibel levels only and do not record audio. These devices help maintain a respectful environment for guests and neighbors. Tampering with any monitoring device may result in additional charges.

Guests have full, private access to all three homes and all shared outdoor spaces — the swimming pool, BBQ area, garden, and backyard. Each home has its own private entrance, so every group within your party can come and go independently. Free on-site parking is available for multiple vehicles.

A car is recommended — Topanga Canyon is a scenic, winding drive through the Santa Monica Mountains and most destinations require wheels. From the compound, Malibu is approximately 15 minutes, Santa Monica is about 25 minutes, and central Los Angeles is roughly 35–40 minutes. The Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) is easily accessible and opens up the entire LA coastline. Free parking is available on-site for your vehicles throughout your stay.

HOUSE RULES — MONTAU COMPOUND:
1. Guests must complete the third-party verification process and submit a valid government-issued ID prior to check-in.
2. No gatherings/events without prior written approval.
3. No pets without prior written approval. Dogs welcome in the Bungalow and Tiny Home ($100/pet fee). The Cabin does not accept pets.
4. Respect the properties and the neighbors.

IMPORTANT: We are committed to protecting our properties and staying current with short-term rental regulations, which is why you will be asked to complete our independent verification before your booking begins.
FAMILY & PETS:
> We are family-friendly! Children 2 years old and above must be included in the total guest count.
> Dogs are welcome in the Bungalow and Tiny Home with a $100/pet fee.
> Please send us your dog's breed and age when booking. Dog
beds and bowls are available. Keep pets off all furniture and bedding.
> Please clean up after your pet and dispose of waste in the
designated bins.
Note: The Cabin does not accept pets of any kind, including service or emotional support animals unless required by law. Undisclosed pets
may result in additional cleaning fees or cancellation.
EXTRA GUESTS:
> Guest count must not exceed the combined occupancy of the booked homes. Additional guests are subject to approval and extra nightly
fees. Day guests must be approved prior to arrival, must leave by 10 PM, and are limited in number. Children are included in the total guest
count.
VENDORS:
The homes are serviced before and after every stay. During extended stays, technicians may access the exterior for maintenance and will
not enter the home.
QUIET HOURS:
10:00 PM – 8:00 AM. Sound carries throughout the canyon. No amplified outdoor music. Failure to respect quiet hours may result in
reservation cancellation without a refund.
RESPECT:
Each home is equipped with indoor and outdoor decibel monitoring sensors (noise level only — no audio recording). Tampering with any
device will result in forfeiture of the security deposit and/or additional charges.
SOUND SYSTEM:
The Sonos system in the Bungalow has been disabled during your stay to comply with county noise ordinances.
CHERISH:
Please dispose of trash properly and avoid leaving food or cigarette butts on the ground to protect Topanga Canyon's ecosystem.
CLEANING:
Health & safety is our top priority. Our team follows CDC and WHO cleaning protocols. Early check-ins and late check-outs are not
available.
PHOTOSHOOTS & VIDEOS:
Commercial photoshoots or video shoots require prior written approval and may incur additional licensing fees. Personal social media
photos are welcome.
WILDLIFE:
Expect to encounter lizards, insects, snakes, coyotes, and endangered kangaroo mice. Use caution outdoors, especially at night with
children and pets.
FIRE ZONE:
All homes are located in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone (VHFHSZ). No smoking anywhere on the exterior of the properties.
NO SMOKING:
No smoking or candles inside any home. $250 charge for violations.
BACKYARD FENCING:
All properties have perimeter fencing. Always supervise pets and children — canyon wildlife does not respect fences.
EV CHARGER:
No EV charger on-site. Nearest options: Tesla Supercharger at Cross Creek Rd & PCH (Malibu); EVgo at 22277 Mulholland Hwy,
Calabasas.
SECURITY SYSTEM:
Security systems are disabled during your stay to prevent false alarms.
SEWER ODOR (Tiny Home):
The Tiny Home bathroom may occasionally have a noticeable sewer-like odor during hot weather. Odor neutralizers are provided and it
does not affect safety or functionality.
