Please be prepared before beginning your drive to the mountains! Four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended. Although the main roads are usually plowed well, many residential areas require traversing steep hills on dirt roads that are not as maintained. Keep in mind that chain and traction laws for non-commercial vehicles can be put into effect at any time. We do not advise driving Berthoud Pass in a front-wheel drive vehicle unless you a comfortable putting chains on yourself. Weather and driving conditions may change rapidly. We will not accommodate refund related to weather or road conditions, please plan accordingly.

Summary: The property itself was generally fine, but there were several small inconveniences that added up and left us a bit disappointed. First, while there was a washer and dryer available, there was no laundry detergent provided—something we expected to be a basic supply. The property manager said it was because of the potential for allergies with different guests. It really should be made clear in the listing that guests need to bring their own.The key lockbox for the second floor didn’t open, which made check-in more difficult than it needed to be. The one on the ground floor did work.In terms of kitchen supplies, we were surprised to find no saran wrap or storage options for food—only two very small Tupperware containers that weren’t sufficient for leftovers.Lastly, we found it inconvenient that guests are expected to take the trash to a separate location rather than leaving it at the property. It’s not clear why the cleaning crew couldn’t handle this as part of the turnover process.Overall, the place had potential, but a few thoughtful improvements could make a big difference in the guest experience.
